Declutter Your Space, Reclaim Your Time
This past Monday, I spent almost two hours cleaning just one room in my home. I was surrounded by things I had forgotten I owned and items I would probably never use, alongside handmade creations that only my family knows about. The sheer amount of clutter overwhelmed me, but I knew I had to address it because it was interfering with my daily routine.
It’s ironic — when we first moved into our home, I was all about achieving that “magazine-ready” look. Yet, every day, I find myself tidying every single room. Cleaning makes me feel accomplished, but there are weeks when life gets hectic, and one particular room becomes a dumping ground for notebooks and craft supplies. The mess lingers for days, and I find myself fantasizing about clearing out the entire space. My thoughts spiral into creative ways to declutter: Should I sell this? Give it away? This has never been opened — could I gift it? Eventually, I figure it out, but it’s a recurring battle.
While I know how to organize, the real question is: Why do I keep accumulating so much stuff in the first place? It seems simple enough, yet this one room continues to be a problem. The rest of the house is well-maintained, but this space, my own dedicated area, is a constant struggle.
